How Long Has Finish Line Been in Business?
The Finish Line, Inc. was founded by Alan Cohen, David Klapper and John Domont, who purchased the franchise rights for The Athlete's Foot (TAF) in Indiana and the greater Louisville, Kentucky area in 1976. After all of the franchise rights for TAF were sold by 1981, Cohen, Klapper and Domont opted to start their own competing business, now calling it The Finish Line and opening their first store on July 2, 1982. The Finish Line, Inc., which went public in 1992, is traded on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the ticker symbol FINL.
